TRAP was designed to run on Unix/Linux operating systems. Tested platforms and operating systems include Compaq Alpha Tru64 UNIX version 5.1, PC/Linux from Red Hat 7.1, Mandrake 10 and Debian 3 distributions. TRAP is also compatible with MacOSX version 10.3.9 (information provided by an anonymous referee).

TRAP was written in Perl and requires the Perl interpreter, version 5.6.0 or higher (http://www.perl.org).

TRAP requires and is compatible with versions 4.00 and 3.21 of Tandem Repeats Finder program (Benson, 1999).
